BANGOR – Marion (Levesque) Currier, 75, died Feb. 24, 2004, after a brief illness. She was born May 10, 1928, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Jessie (Deane) and Ludger A. Levesque. Marion attended Bangor schools and graduated from Bangor High School, in the Class of 1946. She graduated from Husson College where she was active in sports and the Epsilon tau Epsilon Sorority. She remained an active alumni member and held various offices in the Alumni Association. Marion was married to Harold David Currier in 1954 and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker for many years. She later went to work as a bookkeeper for Cardin Advertising and retired from Jiffy Print. Marion enjoyed family gatherings and liked to travel with her friends and to visit her family on the west coast. She is survived and will be missed a great deal by her three children, Connie Ronco and her husband, Douglas, of Winterport, Cindy Kelley and her husband, Patrick, of Glenburn and John Currier and his wife, Kim, of Brewer; her three very special grandchildren who were the light of her life, Molly Fletcher of Glenburn and Jessica and Jacob Currier of Brewer; her brother, John A. Levesque and his wife, JoAnn, of Las Vegas, Nev. and his children, Susan Haddad, Gene Levesque, Sheryl Trace and Sharon Bauer and their mother, Cathy Levesque, all of California. Marion was very close with her cousins, Ruth Adams, Dorothy Ferland, Helen Deane, Ralph Deane, Shirley Werner and their families. Friends were very important to Marion and she got a great deal of support from her Husson College Sorority Sisters; her good friends from the Decade Club and her very special lifetime friends, Marion McCleod, Jeanne Wallace and Leslie Smith. Marion was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and an infant son. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the caring staff at Ross Manor and to Dr. Henry Atkins. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Joel Cyr officiating. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., following the services Friday.
