NEWPORT – Marion L. Timberlake, 74, died Aug. 14, 2007, after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease, ALS. She was born Oct. 20, 1932, in Rumford, a daughter of Dura and Mildred (Chamberlain) Delano. She had been employed as a secretary at Eastern Maine Medical Center and was a member of Court Street Seventh Day Adventist Church, both in Bangor. Marion was predeceased by a son, Thomas in 1950; her husband, Norman in 1994; and daughter, Shirley Brown in 2003. She is survived by three sons, Terry of Texas, Linsay and wife, Kathy, and Timothy, all of Newport; two daughters, Angie and her husband, Maurice Godin, of Etna and Holly and husband, Vernard Wheeler, of Hermon; three brothers, Dura Jr. and wife, Mary Lou Delano, of Nebraska, Clinton and wife, Mary Delano, and Gordon Delano, all of Maine; a sister, Dorothy Dickey of Millinocket; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; dearest and best friend, Marion Lyons, and her special angel, Bonnie Day. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be after the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the ALS Association, NNE Chapter, Concord Center, 10 Ferry St., Suite 438, P.O.
