Tigard, Ore. and PRESQUE ISLE – Marion (Marino) Craig died March 26, 2006, in Tigard, Ore., of pulmonary fibrosis. She was born June 29, 1917, in Presque Isle, the eldest child of John and Pearl (White) Marino. She was a graduate of Aroostook State Teachers College and taught at Gouldville School. In 1945, she moved to Oregon with her husband, Adam and son. There she earned a bachelor’s degree from Oregon College of Education and a master’s degree from the University of Oregon. She taught in the Portland elementary schools for 22 years. As a 25 year volunteer for the Oregon Symphony Society, she received their Volunteer of the Year Award in 2005. Survivors include her son, Gerald; his wife, Gloria; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and sisters-in-law, Jean and Henrietta Marino. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam; son, Geoffrey; sister, Annie Pierson; and brothers, John and Robert Marino. A memorial service was held April 12, in the First Congregational Church, Portland, Ore. She had been a member of the church for more than 50 years.
