CORINNA and PITTSFIELD – Marion P. Wilber, 79, of Pittsfield passed away Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Sebasticook Valley Hospital. She was born March 3, 1926, in Detroit, Maine, the daughter of Ralph and Viola (Basford) Pearl. Marion graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1944. She married Carl Wilber June 30, 1945. Marion was a stay at home mom until her children were grown. At the age of 46, she began working in the weave room at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna, where she remained until retirement. Marion’s greatest joy was her family. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her newest great-grandchild. Marion will be lovingly remembered for her resolute nature, her courage and continued sense of humor, her enjoyment of the daily crossword puzzle and her beautiful embroidery and crewel work. She is survived by her children, John and Linda Wilber of Dexter, Carleen and Donald Harriman of Palmyra, Brent and Sherry Wilber of Corinna, Loretta and Jerry Martin of Pittsfield; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Robert and Peter Wilber, Angela Cupples, Christopher Harriman and Ellie Martin; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Lauren, Colby, Dustin, Emily, Courtney, Nicole, Kylie and Ethan. She also leaves her beloved brothers and sisters Elmer and Patricia Pearl of Summerfield, Fla. and Marjorie and Charles Simpson of Barefoot Bay, Fla.; many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Carl Wilber and her parents. A graveside service will be held for family and friends, 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2005, at the Detroit Village Cemetery.
