EASTPORT – Marion S. Hinson, 75, died unexpectedly on Feb. 11, 2004, at Eastport Memorial Nursing Home, Eastport. She was born Oct. 7, 1928, in St. Stephens, New Brunswick, to Alice Sabattus of Calais. She grew up in Calais, and lived most of her life there. She worked for New England Telephone Co. of Calais and Ellsworth for 27 years. She was very well known and liked around the Calais area. She was very fond of animals. She is survived by three sons, David Peaslee of Farmington, Dale Peaslee of Auburn, Timothy Peaslee of Springvale; two grandchildren, Sara Gaudin and Daily Peaslee, both of Lewiston; one great-grandson, Trevor Gaudin of Lewiston; one brother, John Sabattus and his wife, Carolyn of Brewer; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Sabattus of Calais, and Betty Moreside of Calais; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Ruth Sherrard of Calais. She was predeceased by brothers, Leonard Sabattus, Merrill Sabattus, Frances Sabattus, and Paul Sabattus; and one sister, Marjorie. A memorial Mass and spring interment will be held at a later time.
