HOLDEN and BREWER Marjorie June “Mudge” Gray, 66, died Nov. 10, 2006, from melanoma, after battling different forms of cancer for many years. Mudge was a genuinely kind and decent person, the most important legacy anyone can pass on. Mudge was born Feb. 4, 1940, in Maxfield, to Harold and Florence Cummings. She graduated from Higgins Classical Institute in 1957 and from Husson College in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in business education. She worked as a paralegal in Brewer for more than 25 years. Mudge was devoted to her beloved husband of 40 years, Rollie; her children and grandchildren, extended family and many friends. She was a longtime member of Holden Congregational Church where she sang in the choir and was trusted with the books. Her beautiful voice and heart will linger in our memory. Mudge was predeceased by Rollie, November 2001; her daughter, Lynne Kelleter, November 2004; her sister, Vivian Cummings, June 1985; and her brother, Ken, 1998. Surviving are her three sons and their families, Stephen Gray and his wife, Sandra Johnson, of Minneapolis, James Gray of Decatur, Texas, and his daughters, Amber and Amy, Thomas Gray and his wife, Brenda, of Lum-berton, Texas; stepgrandchildren, Erica Joy Prosprie and Randy Michelle Hensley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Melissa Cummings of Alton, Clayton and June Cummings of Willow Street, Pa., and Norman and Louise Cummings of Sebago Lake; sister-in-law, Marie Cummings of Milo; son-in-law, Tanner Kelleter of Orono; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Janice Gray of Green Lake; many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mudge’s family thanks Bangor Area Visiting Nurses for their amazing support and care. Family and friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Holden Congregational Church, Church Road, Holden, with the Rev. Dana Douglass, pastor, officiating. A reception will be held after the service at Mudge’s home, 58 Deer Park Drive, Brewer. Private burial will be at Harts Corner Cemetery, Holden.
