BUCKSPORT and ORONO Mark D. Thomas, 46, of Bucksport and Orono lost his courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Dec. 3, 1957 in Bangor, the son of Walter I. and Theresa (Albert) Thomas of Orono. Mark graduated from Orono High School in 1977. He enjoyed all outdoor activities, including, hunting, fishing and 4-wheeling. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Piers) Thomas of Bucksport; two sons, Travis and Brice Thomas of Holden; step-daughter, Nicole Ellis of Bangor; father-in-law, Bob Piers of Bucksport; three brothers, Ray of Orono, Paul and his wife Michelle of Stillwater and Glenn and his wife Sue of Orono. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his special friends, Ronnie and Angel Curtis, Lisa and John Stauffer, Scott and Beth Sutherland, Donna Connick and Foxy. He will be sadly missed by his puppy, Sadie. A special thanks goes out to the Hospice Group of Hancock County. At Mark’s request, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends can gather to celebrate Mark’s life 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at his brother’s house at 104 Mill St., Orono from.
