FORT FAIRFIELD and PRESQUE ISLE – Mark E. McKenney, 32, died unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, in Woodland, as the result of a snowmobile accident. He was born Jan. 29, 1974, in Presque Isle, the son of Wendell P. “Wendy” and Judy (Edmunds) McKenney. Mark was a graduate of Presque Isle High School, Class of 1993 and had attended the Northern Maine Technical College and the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He had been employed in the snowmobile industry for 10 years, most recently at the Sled Shop in Presque Isle. Mark was married to Wendy M. Leach July 19, 1997 and will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, son and grandson. Mark was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling and was a member of the Aroostook River Snowmobile Club of Castle Hill. He was predeceased by his father Aug. 2, 1977; and maternal grandparents, Perrin Edmunds and Joyce Edmunds Philbrick. He is survived by his wife, Wendy M. McKenney; one daughter, Kailey J. McKenney, both of Fort Fairfield; his mother, Judy Edmunds and her husband, Glen Leach, of Squa Pan Lake; one sister, Melanie Perry of Portland; paternal grandparents, Paul and Betty McKenney of Fort Fairfield. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Interment will take place at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, later in the spring. A time of fellowship will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 260 Main St., Fort Fairfield, immediately following the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mark, to the family, who will establish a trust fund for Kailey McKenney, care of Judy Edmunds, P.O.
