BRUNSWICK, Ga., PATTEN and ISLAND FALLS – Mark Henry Daigle, 88, formerly of Patten and Island Falls, and most recently residing in Brunswick, Ga., passed away Dec. 20, 2006. Mark was born in Wallagrass. Mark graduated from Fort Kent High School, and served his country during World War II in the 549th Motor Ambulance Co. of the U.S. Army Air Force, in seven campaigns and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. He was a life member of Veterans’ of Foreign Wars Post No. 7529, Island Falls and had previously served as VFW chaplain. Mr. Daigle worked in civil service at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, until his retirement. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Daigle Morrison of Brunswick, Ga.; grandson, HSC Philip A. Roy III of the U.S. Coast Guard, Panama City, Fla.; sisters, Theresa Stuter and Lorina Culpepper; nephew Roy C. Daigle and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick, with a military remembrance at sea after the service at 1 p.m. Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick, is in charge of all arrangements.
