MILLINOCKET – Marlene L. Guy, 66, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008, surrounded by her family and friends, at her home after a short illness. She was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Van Buren, the daughter of Ludger and Clara (Berube) Martin. Marlene moved to Millinocket with her family when she was a teenager and graduated from St. Martin of Tours Catholic High School, Class of 1960. Marlene began her career in retail sales while still in high school, selling popcorn at the Millinocket theatre. She then operated the Sears catalog store in Millinocket for many years, and later worked with her husband at D & M Sales, Medway. Marlene enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Marlene is survived by her husband of 46 years, David R. Guy Sr.; three children, Barbara Legassey and her husband, Bruce, David R. Guy Jr., all of Millinocket, and Chris Guy and his wife, Shana, of Glenburn; a daughter-in-law, Heather Guy of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Jordan, Jeffrey, Anthony, Whitney, Emily, Angela and Ryan; three siblings, Eugene Martin and his wife, Cynthia, of Millinocket, Bernette Levesque and her husband, Ray, of Bangor, and Melvin Martin and his wife, Anne, of Millinocket; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Guy; and a sister, Anne Marie Martin. Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-9 p.m. Sunday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Monday, June 2, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
