ST. ALBANS and WEDEL, GERMANY – Martha (Pagel) Hass, 86, died of natural causes Jan. 18, 2005, at her home with her beloved husband at her side. She was born Dec. 6, 1918, at Schwersenz-Dorf, Germany, a daughter of Wilhelm and Hedwig (Mueller) Pagel. Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family. She also was an avid gardener. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Helmut R. Hass of St. Albans and Wedel, Germany; her daughter, Beate, and husband, James Hanson, of St. Albans; four grandchildren, Thomas Fick, Karmen Hinman, Kateena Hook, and Karin Miller; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Monika. There will be no services at this time. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at Crocker Cemetery, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 343 Gorham Road, South Portland, ME 04106. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport.
