BANGOR – Harold “Bill” F. Wyman, 77, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went home to the Lord Jan. 18, 2005. He was born June 2, 1927, in Brewer, the son of Harold and Anna (Bolitho) Wyman. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Rosalie Wyman Leighton and Pauline Wyman; and a brother, Frank Wyman. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Louise Weston Wyman of Bangor; three daughters, Judy and her husband, Stephen Davidson, of Pensacola, Fla.; Peggy and her husband, Bill Hobden, of Ruby, Mich.; and Becky and her husband, Bob DuVal, of Oakland; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was educated in Brewer schools, Class of 1945. He was drafted in the first peace-time draft and went into the U.S. Marine Corps. After leaving the service in 1947, he was employed by Coles Express in Bangor, starting a career in the transportation industry. He retired from the Interstate Commerce Commission in 1982 because of ill health after 10 years of service in Washington, D.C. He was an avid bowler of ten pins, taking many top awards when living in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine. He worked many years with Little Leagues, boys and girls and taught Sunday school during his daughters’ growing years. He was a volunteer for RSVP for several years in Concord, N.H. He was a member of the Contoocook Methodist Church in New Hampshire for 21 years, transferring membership to the First United Methodist Church on Essex Street in Bangor in 2004. He and his wife spent many winters in St. Petersburg, Fla., and summers at their cottage in Raymond, on Panther Pond. The past two years they have enjoyed living at their home in Sunbury Village, Gracious Retirement Living. A service of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Rev. Dr. Randall C. Chretien, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Bangor.
