BANGOR – Martha Helen Flagg, 60, a resident of Westgate Manor in Bangor for the last nine years, passed away, Monday, May 23, 2005, at her residence. She was born Feb. 2, 1945, in Waldoboro, the beloved daughter of Richard and Arletta Flagg. She graduated from Waldoboro High School in 1963 and briefly attended the University of Maine at Machias. She worked at Fieldcrest Manor Nursing Home before moving to Bangor. She lived in Bangor most of her adult life, where she worked for many years as a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was predeceased by her father and youngest brother, Paul Flagg. Survivors include, mother, Arletta Flagg, of Waldoboro; brother and sisters-in-law, David Flagg and wife, Judy, of Rockland, John Flagg and wife, Margarita, of New York, Stanley Flagg and wife, Gale, of Fort Kent, Lewis Flagg and wife, Alice, of Winthrop; sister-in-law, Bette Flagg, of Waldoboro, (wife of the late of Paul Flagg); many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2005, at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. A Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Hall Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Bellows officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Martha’s memory may be made to Resident Activity Fund, Westgate Manor, 750 Union St., Bangor, ME 04401 or to the local animal shelter of your choice. The family wishes to express its deepest appreciation for the loving care from Dr. Henry Atkins and staff of Westgate Manor. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro.
