VAN BUREN – Martha M. Gagnon, 66, died April 24, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Sept. 16, 1940, in St. Anne, New Brunswick, the daughter of Pierre and Ida (Godin) Ouellette. She operated a foster home for many years and was an excellent cook. She took pleasure in helping others and made fudge for the parish bazaar for many years. Martha enjoyed crocheting, making puzzles and loved angels, of which she had a large collection. Her family, however, were her greatest love, especially her children and grandchildren. Her family is truly grateful for the sincere kindness and professional care provided by the Ross Manor of Bangor during her final days. Martha is survived by four sons, Nelson Gagnon Jr. and his wife, Violette, of St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Roger Gagnon and his wife, Nancy, of Levant, Richard Gagnon of California and Steven Gagnon and his friend, Scott, of Standish; one daughter, Christine Lapointe and her husband, Mike, of Van Buren; two brothers, Armand Ouellette and Leo Ouellette, both of Van Buren; one sister, Louise Albert of Van Buren; nine grandchildren, Valerie, Vennessa, Rebekah, Bradley, Kristin, Shane, Sacha, Colby and Renee; one great-grandson, Declin; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Diane Cyr of Brewer. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Nelson Gagnon Sr. in 1992; one son, Patrick Gagnon in 1967; three brothers, Eddie Ouellette, George Ouellette and Maurice Ouellette; two sisters, Germaine Gervais and Lena Lapointe. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Bruno Cemetery later this spring.
