ENGLEWOOD, Fla., and BLUE HILL – Marvin W. Curtis died Feb. 7, 2008, at Englewood Com-munity Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 3, 1937, in Blue Hill, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, where his mother worked as a registered nurse for 50 years. Marvin loved his summers at Toddy Pond and his golfing and boating in Florida. He also enjoyed his coffee with “the boys” and his annual baseball trips. He taught at Maine Maritime Academy for 30 years and surveyed boats after his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Marvin was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Vera Curtis. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia J. Curtis; his sons, Howard J. Curtis and his wife, Dottie, and Todd M. Curtis and his partner, Kelly; one brother, Robert L. Curtis and his wife, Doris; many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held in Blue Hill during the summer.
