BANGOR and CARMEL – Mary Bernice (Gaudet) Emerson, 82, wife of the late Anson I. Emerson, passed away Feb. 7, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 4, 1921, in Bangor, the daughter of William and Amelia (Baine) Gaudet. Mary had lived in Carmel for many years before moving to Bangor. She enjoyed reading and playing cards. Mary is survived by a brother-in-law, John E. McGuff of Hampden; two sisters-in-law, Ellie Levesque of Bangor, and Frances Burke of Newburgh; and by a special friend and caregiver, Jean Boyorak of Hampden; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Anson, in 1994; by a sister, Virginia A. McGuff in 2003; and by two brothers, Walter and Alden Gaudet. Visiting hours will be held 11-1 p.m. Tuesday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Interment in the springtime will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden.
