SIDNEY, Ohio – Mary Catherine “Kay” Klauer, 86, of 3003 W. Cisco Road, Sidney, Ohio, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at 11:10 p.m. at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney, Ohio. She was born Feb. 11, 1917, in Logan County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Oliver and Lena (Yoder) Heath. On Oct. 18, 1952, she married Edgar W. Klauer, and he passed away on July 31, 2003. Mrs. Klauer was a member of the Sidney Ladies Elks Auxiliary and graduated from Quincy High School in 1934. Mrs. Klauers hobbies included sewing, playing cards and golf. Mrs. Klauer worked at the Velvet ice cream store in Piqua, Ohio, Uhlmans department store in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the Stolle Corp. in Sidney, Ohio, and the DeGraff Creamery in DeGraff, Ohio. She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Snyder Sturm and son-in-law, Thomas, of Dothan, Ala.; three grandchildren, David Sturm and his wife, Cynthia, of Bangor, Scott Sturm and his wife, Michelle, of Ashford, Ala., and Maria and her husband, Steven Stanford, of Cullman, Ala.; six great-grandchildren, Cathrynn Sturm, Elizabeth Sturm, Andrew Sturm, all of Bangor, Matthew Sturm of Ashford, Ala., Mary Katherine Stanford, and Thomas Jackson Stanford, both of Cullman, Ala.; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Rebecca O’Connor and Bethany O’Connor, both of Bangor. Also surviving are two brothers, Paul Heath and his wife, Betty, and David A. Heath and his wife, LaDona, both of Quincy, Ohio; one sister, Lucille Pickering of Rosewood, Ohio. She was predeceased by one daughter, Miriam Suzanne Snyder; six brothers, Harold, Donald Max, Gaylord, Claude, Duane and Robert; and one sisters, Dolores Heath. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cromes Funeral Home, Sidney, Ohio, with Dr. Fred Lacuesta officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, Ohio. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Dorothy Love Life Care, or Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
