SPRINGFIELD – Mary E. Gaskill passed quietly 3 a.m. Aug. 30, 2006, with her family at her bedside, at the Cummings Health Care Facility. She was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Mays Landing, N.J., and lived there until April 1980, when she and her husband, Clinton, retired to Springfield. She became active in the Congregational Church and it’s Ladies Circle in Springfield and could usually be found at the door of the church annex on Wednesdays, during the summer, selling tickets to their bean suppers. She loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours fishing for bass on Lower Dobsie. She is survived by a son, Clinton Jr. and his wife, Janice; granddaughter, Ida of Passadumkeag and several nieces and nephews in New Jersey. She was predeceased by her husband, Clinton Sr. in 2001.
