BREWER and BANGOR Mary E. Page, 90, wife of the late Melvin Page, went to join the Lord in heaven, Nov. 1, 2007, and we are sure that she is happily reunited with her husband; and daughter, Brenda. She was born July 24, 1917, in Oxbow, the daughter of Willmon and Mary (Lannigan) Fleming, one of 13 children. Her sister, Viola Currie, still resides in Presque Isle. Mary was the only one of the 13 children to graduate from Ashland High School in 1935 and she furthered her professional skills at Bangor’s Eastern Academy of Beauty Culture in 1971. As a young woman, she was involved with a variety of community service projects: the Ladies Aide, Rebekah Lodge and Episcopal Church, Ashland. Mary was a gentle soul and was loved by all who knew her, especially her three surviving children, Caroline Stevens and her husband, David, of Bangor, Sharon Abbotoni and her husband, Guy, of Hollywood, Fla., and Frank Page and his wife, Doreen, of Brewer; five grandchildren, Amiee Crane of Florida, Bujji Page of Brewer, Mike, Patrick and James Stevens; five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Emily and Justine Stevens, Ben Crane and James Strout. She was active and lovingly appreciated in all aspects of our lives. Her recently extended family at Westgate Manor, Bangor, was extremely instrumental in creating a loving and nurturing environment for the final year of her life. A private memorial service with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves presiding will be held at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Westgate Manor, 750 Union St., Bangor, ME 04401. Condolences may also be offered at www.kileyfuneralhome.com
