HOULTON – Mary Emma Newhouse, 85, died April 5, 2006, at her home. She was born March 27, 1921, in Stockholm, the daughter of Denis and Celine (Lagasse) Roy. Emma was devoted to her family and home, loved to fish and play cards. She was a member of St. Mary of Visitation Catholic Church of Houlton. She is survived by three children, Robert and his wife, Dotty Newhouse, of Farmingdale, Nancy and her husband, Richard Corey, Darlene and her husband, George Lloyd, all of Houlton; one daughter-in-law, Mary Newhouse of Hodgdon; nine grandchildren, Barton and his wife, Angie Newhouse, Donna Bickford, Jennifer and her husband, Travis Gross, Richard Jr., Rhoda, Ryan and his wife, Leanne, Sarah, Daniel and William; eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Richard Roy of East Millinocket; five sisters, Eva Higgins of Solon, Alma St. Peter of Belfast, Priscilla Nason of Hodgdon, Lillian Roy of Houlton, Dinah Tidd of Hodgdon; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Newhouse; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Louis; one son, Ronald; three sisters, Edwina Daigle, Shirley Suitter and Ella Juerrette; five brothers, Lionel, Ernest, Rene and two infant brothers, Norman and James. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Eddy Morin, celebrant.
