BANGOR – Mary H. Gardner, 65, wife of Bryden M. Gardner, died unexpectedly April 23, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 11, 1939, in Bangor, the daughter of Casper and Rosella (Hosford) Leighton. Mary was employed with Hall Security at EMMC for many years prior to retiring in 1995. Surviving in addition to her husband of 47 years, Bryden; are four children, Janet Hargus of Rogers, Ark., Bryden Alan Gardner and his wife, Susan M. Gardner, of Newburgh, Vicki M. Gardner of Winslow, Randy S. Gardner and his wife, Lori M. Gardner, of Bangor; three grandchildren, Molly Hargus, Bryden Aaron Gardner, Nicole Marie Gardner; one brother, Lewis Leighton of Eddington; one sister, Mabel Carmichael of Bangor; several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Mary was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Spearing. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Mary may be sent to a charity of one’s choice.
