MILLINOCKET – Vivian Marie (Bowman) Elkins went to be with the Lord April 24, 2005, surrounded by her family. She was born May 20, 1929, in St. Albans, the daughter of Winn and Oneita (Osborn) Bowman. She attended St. Albans schools. She loved her family foremost, her church, her pets, knitting, crocheting, cooking and her flowers. Her beloved Robert, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage, predeceased her in 2000. She is survived by daughter, Roxanne Johnson and special friend, Bill; son, Robert Elkins Jr. and special friend, Wuanita; grandchildren, Audra Pelletier, Alysha Elkins and fianc?, Josh, Jeremy and friend, Sarah, Devin and friend, Hannah, Amanda Whirty, Travis Kelly and Brandon Spearin; great-grandchildren, Nathan Isaac, Kaleb Adam and Ariana Vivian; one sister, Virginia Pelkey of Parkman; sister-in-law, Pauline Hanson; brothers-in-law, Douglas Elkins, Burns Elkins and his wife, Juanita; and special nieces and nephews; special people in Nan’s life include “daughter” Sue Preo, Huck Johnson, Paul and Linda Patchell and Forest Dye. Vivian will be missed by all who love and know her. A special memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Millinocket Baptist Church, with Pastor Rudy Homchuck officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bangor Humane Society or the Katahdin Area Support Group.
