EASTPORT – Mary H. Stevens, of Calais, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at the Atlantic Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born July 29, 1929, in Eastport, the daughter of George and Nellie Carlisle. She was a 1947 graduate of Shead Memorial High School in Eastport. She married Milton Stevens of Pembroke July 31, 1948, and lived in Eastport on Key Street until last year when she and her husband moved to Washington Place in Calais. She worked as a secretary for the Machiasport Canning Company, the Eastport Memorial Hospital, and the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home until retiring in 1997. She was predeceased by her husband, Milton Stevens Dec. 18, 2004. Survivors include her sister, Kathryn Carlisle of Portland; sons and their spouses, David and Jeanne Stevens of Portland, Paul and Mary Stevens of Jay; grandchildren, Glenn Stevens of Maryland, Rachel Ladd of Windham, Ellen Stevens of Leeds, Eric Stevens of Frenchville, and Lynn Amburg of Steep Falls; great-grandchildren, Ethan Amburg of Steep Falls, Ashley Stevens of Frenchville, and Grace Ladd of Windham. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the Flagg Funeral Home, interment in Bayside Cemetery, Eastport.
