ORONO – Mary Lou Colbath, 72, wife of the late James Arnold Colbath, died unexpectedly April 8, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Hagerstown, Md., the daughter of Irvin and Hazel Eshleman. Mary Lou was extremely active in the arts community in the Greater Bangor area, working at the Maine Public Broadcasting Network during her career, and serving on the board of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. She championed numerous charitable causes throughout the region and had a passion for a life in the theatre, both as a participant and a patron. She is survived by her son and his wife, Sean and Donna Colbath of Cambridge, Mass.; her 102 year-old aunt, Annis Sisler of Williamsport, Md.; sister-in-law, Phyllis Eshleman and her daughters, Amy and Julie. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Church of Universal Fellowship, Orono, with the Rev. Lorna Stuart, pastor, officiating. Creative dress is encouraged. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the church after the service. Spring interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
