BANGOR – Mary Louise Rice, 97, died Feb. 10, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 25, 1906, in Bangor, the son of Samuel and Teresa (Geoghegan) Gallison. Mary was a 1925 graduate of Bangor High School. She worked for New England Telephone for 35 years before retiring and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Mary was a life long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor. She is survived by a niece, Maureen Nickerson of Hanover, Mass.; two nephews, John Paul Perry of Bangor, Michael Perry of Hillsboro, Oregon; and many grand and great-grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Rice in 1973; a stepson, Richard Rice, a sister; Kathleen E. Perry; and a nephew, James E. Perry. Friends are invited to meet with the family 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb 12, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Feb 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor, with the Rev. Chanel Cyr, celebrant. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
