MERIDEN, Conn. – Mary “Nancy” McCray, 65, of 150 Cheshire Road, wife of Edward McCray Sr., died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at home after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. Born May 27, 1941, in Greenville, the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary Alice (Roy) Lizotte. She had resided in South Meriden, Conn., since 1961. She attended schools in Greenville. Mrs. McCray was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church and a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post 591, Wallingford. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lisa Fernandez and her husband, Jose, of Wallingford, Conn.; a son, Edward McCray and his wife, Melissa, of South Meriden, Conn.; four grandchildren, Brandon, Jocelyn, Nathan and Joseph; two brothers, Paul Lizotte and his wife, Patricia, of Wallingford, Conn., and Norman Lizotte and his wife, Mary, of Austin, Texas; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Germaine Shufelt; and a brother, Roland Lizotte. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Holy Angels Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
