HAMPDEN and BANGOR Mary W. Lane, 96, went to be with her Lord, June 2, 2004, at her home in Hampden. She was born July 4, 1907, in East Corinth, the daughter of Leslie W. and Louise Sadie (Tate) Fitz. Mary graduated from Farmington State Teachers College and went on to teach for several years in Orrington. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bangor, where she helped clean and set up for the Sunday services. She is survived by a son, Richard Lane and wife, Thelma, of Hampden; daughters, Helen Bilotta and husband, Robert, of Port Orange, Fla., Virginia McMains and husband, Donald, of Belle View, Fla., Marilyn Murphy and husband, Daniel, of Fort Walton Beech, Fla., Donna Carnrick, of Cherry Hill, N.J.; a sister, Helen Conner of Dover-Foxcroft; 36 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Winfred V. Lane, in 1989; three sons, Leo W. Lane, Leslie Lane, Mason Lane; and a daughter, Wilma Irish. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 7, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 234 French St., Bangor, with the Rev. Kevin Holsapple, Rector, and the Venerable Tom Benson, Archdeacon, officiating. Interment will be at Corinthian Cemetery, E. Corinth.
