PRESQUE ISLE – Mattie E. Niles, 94, died Aug. 22, 2007, at Day Kimball Hospital, Putnum, Conn. She was born June 3, 1913, in Four Falls, New Brunswick, the daughter of Alexander and Theresa (Day) Watson. Mattie was a resident of West View Health Care Center for the past three years. In 1994 Mattie retired from the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library after 22 years of service. She was predeceased by her husband, Dwight L. Niles, in 1994. They were married 55 years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Joyce) Wise of Williamsburg, Va.; two sons and their wives, Brian and Barb Niles of Allentown, Pa., and Brent and Trudy Niles of Putnam, Conn.; four grandchildren, Brenda Robayo, Bonnie Niles, Brent Niles Jr. and Scott Wise; three great-grand-children, Dylan Niles, Brandon and Ryan Robayo. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle, with Pastor Michael Shaw officiating.
