FRANKFORT – Maxine (Fields) Hussey, 83, the wife of Lawrence P. Hussey, passed away peacefully, Jan. 17, 2005, surrounded by her family at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born April 5, 1921, in Winterport, the daughter of Edwin E. and Lois (Francis) Fields. Maxine was a graduate of Frankfort High School, Class of 1939. Maxine had made her home in Frankfort for more than 60 years, where she raised her family, and worked with her husband on their poultry farm. She was a member of the Frankfort Congregational Church and the church guild for more than 60 years. Maxine is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lawrence of Frankfort, and their children, Gary W. Hussey of Frankfort, William E. Hussey and his wife, Kathy, of Peru, Maine, Marilyn A. Levesque and her husband, Paul, of Winterport; one brother, Arnold J. Fields of Mass.; and a sister, Frances Soucie of Brewer; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, John A. Hussey Feb. 1, 1990; and by two brothers, Atwood and Ralph W. Fields. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, at the Frankfort Congregational Church, with the Rev. Meg Watson, pastor of the church officiating. Following the service a memorial gathering will be held in the fellowship hall of the church. Gestures of remembrance for Maxine may be made to the Frankfort Congregational Church, P.O. Box 38, Frankfort, ME 04438-0038. Interment in the springtime will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden.
