ELLSWORTH – Maxine W. Jordan, 100, died April 9, 2007, at her residence. She was born May 1, 1906, in Sullivan, the daughter of Howard and Harriet Webb. Maxine attended Machias Normal School summers and taught in Bayside. She was a former telephone operator for New England Telephone & Telegraph, worked at Jordan’s Funeral Home and Eastman’s Clothing Store, Ellsworth. She was a member of the Irene Chapter OES. She is survived by a second cousin, Beverly Byron and husband, James, of Madison; nephew, Kenneth Jordan of Ellsworth; great-nieces, Debbie Day of Lamoine and Stacy Foss of Franklin; and great-nephew, Kenneth Jordan Jr. of Chicago. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Jordan. A graveside service at Woodbine Cemetery will be held at a later date.
