ORONO – Maysie Evelyn Munson, 80, died peacefully Sept. 3, 2005, at her Orono home after a long illness. She was born Aug. 5, 1925, in Pembroke, the daughter of Arthur and Nellie (Moore) Stevens. She was married to James E. Munson Sr. for 35 years. She taught Sunday school and was the organist at Pembroke Baptist Church for several years. She worked as a nurses’ aide and private care nurse for many years. She was a housewife and loving mother. She was the eldest member of True Life Church in Bangor. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Cecil, Milton, Vincent, Elmer, Neil Stevens and Weston Moore; a sister, Virginia Preston. She is survived by her children, Rolan Munson of Queen Valley, Ariz., James Munson Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., Priscilla Richmond of Marion, N.C., Greta Doucette and her husband, Larry, of Bayonet Point, Fla., David Munson and his wife, Monique, of Hudson, Gwendolyn Smith and her husband, Larry, of Hudson and Ronald Munson and his wife, Jennifer, of Titusville, Fla.; a sister, Greta Stevens of Calais; and a sister-in-law, Irene Moore of Calais; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, her close friends, the Rev. Sherwood and Audrey Craig; special friend, Walter Ravinski; her pastors Tim and Cindy Newcomb and all who knew her. Relatives and friends may call 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, at True Life Church, 1195 Ohio St., Bangor. A committal service and interment will follow at the Hudson Cemetery. A reception and time of fellowship will follow at True Life Church, Bangor.
