CALAIS – Mazie Anna Blaney, 90, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at a Calais nursing home. Mazie was born March 19, 1915, in Princeton, daughter of the late Harold E. and Ruth (Harriman) Cheney. She was a member of the Calais Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Mazie was employed with Hyde Windlers during World War II and later as a nurses aide with Calais Regional Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd V. Blaney; a grandson, Christopher Eric Blaney; four sisters, Myrtle Cheney, Sabra Hatch, Flora Purrington and Muriel Seigers; and three brothers, Arthur, Darrel, and George Cheney. Surviving are four children, Eldon Blaney and wife, Sylvia, of South Lancaster, Mass., Elaine Blaney of Bonita Springs, Fla., George H. Blaney of Princeton, and Ruth Knowles and husband, Merle Jr., of Alexander; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Merle III, Steven, April, Seth, Luke, Beckery, Randy, Lexus, Mark, Edward Nicholas, Daryl and wife, Licy, B.J., Brittany, Wanda, Dawn, Heidi, Alex, Brent, Jill, Jasmine, Angela, Matthew, Barbara, David, Chris, Scott, Nick, Harold, Wendy, Chanya and George III; and a great-great grandson, Nathan. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Calais Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Elder Bill Sawtelle officiating. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais.
