PRINCETON – Melvin L. Waycott Sr., “Cudgie,” 74, died Oct. 21, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1928, in Charlotte, the son of Manford and Pearl (Allen) Waycott. He is a past member of the Princeton Rod & Gun Club. Cudgie enjoyed entertaining his friends, hunting, fishing and trapping. Surviving are his wife, Norma “Arlene” McGlauflin Waycott of Princeton; one son, Melvin Waycott Jr. of Baileyville; two daughters, Joan Tracy of Charlotte, Carol Waterhouse of Westbrook; two stepsons, Dennis Bryant and Larry Colarusso, both of Charlotte; one stepdaughter, Laura Hunt of Baileyville; one brother, Kenneth Allen of Freeport; one sister, Elsie Koerner of Milton Mills; mother-in-law, Evelyn McGlauflin of Charlotte; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, with the Rev. Dana Kadey officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service time. Burial will be in the Round Pond Cemetery, Charlotte.
