JACKSON – Sadie C Ricker, 89, died Oct. 22, 2003, at a Belfast healthcare facility. She was born July 31, 1914, at Jackson, the daughter of Harry and Maude “Webb” Work. She was the wife of the late Hugh C. Ricker. Sadie enjoyed her family and her grandchildren, working in her flower garden and talking with her friends. During her working life she worked at the Black and Gay Cannery in Brooks, and helped her husband in his construction and wood businesses. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Dale and Donald Ricker; four brothers, Floyd, Ralph, Hervey and Paul Work; three sisters, Crystal Work, Caroline O’ Brien and Margaret Hart; two grandchildren, Vickie and Keith Snyder. She is survived by four children, Dennis and Althea Ricker of Newburg, Darol and Myrtie Ricker of Jackson, Mrs. Bob “Janice” Murphy and Mrs. Bruce “Jolene” Jean, also of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Rackliffe Funeral Home, 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, with Rev. Vern Wood officiating. Friends who wish are asked to contribute to the Kno-Wal-Lin Home Health Care.
