SEARSPORT – Melvina L. Pease, 58, died Aug. 31, 2006, at her residence. She was born July 2, 1948, in Camden, the daughter of Elroy and Evelyn (Young) Wood. She worked in the clerical field during her lifetime. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her second husband, Donald H. Pease. Melvina is survived by her partner of 21 years, Jerry Chaples of Searsport; her sons, Gerald R. Cross Jr. and his wife, Karen, and Christopher E. Cross and his wife, Alicia; her sons’ father, Gerald R. Cross; brothers, Neal E. Wood and his wife, Susan, and Leal I. Wood; grandchildren, Gerry Cross, Amelia Cross and Alivia Cross; a great-granddaughter, Ginger Ann Cross; nieces and nephews, Bruce Wood, Neal Wood, Scott Wood and Julie Wood. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, at Melvina’s home, 101 Back Searsport Road, Searsport. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
