HOULTON – Merle K. Foster, 70, died June 14, 2004, at his residence. He was born June 23, 1933, at Houlton, the son of LeRoy and Annie (Brewer) Foster. Merle was employed by MSAD No. 29 for 27 years as a school custodian and bus driver. He loved driving his bus and volunteered for many school trips. He was a volunteer fireman for the Houlton Fire Department. Merle is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara L. (Sennett) Foster of Houlton; three sons, Keith Foster and his wife, Bonnie, of Houlton, Rodney Foster and his wife, Nancy, of Dresdan, Randy Foster and his wife, Jodi, of Houlton; three daughters, Judy Stieg and her husband, Karl, of Agawam, Mass., Sherry Porter and her husband, Brent, of Island Falls, Lori Prosser and her husband, Paul, of Houlton; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hilda Ramsey, Jeannie Henderson, Anna Jones, all of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sandra Lara; and his granddaughter, Kayla Foster. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Dunn Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating.
