BANGOR – Michael Dwight Beckwith, 49, died June 17, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer, at his residence. He was born April 25, 1958, in Bangor, the son of A. Dwight and M. Reta (Ellis) Beckwith. Michael attended Central High School, Corinth. He was a truck driver most of his life, mostly working for W. H. Shurtleff & Co. Michael loved driving his Harley Davidson motorcycles, which he owned many of throughout his life. He will also be remembered for a white Monte Carlo, that had the license plate, Sno-ball. Michael enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and drag racing. He was a kind, loving person and will be dearly missed. In addition to his mother Reta; he is survived by a bro-ther, Mac Beckwith of Carmel; two sisters, Debbie Allen of Kenduskeag and Diane Wickett and companion, Bob, of Hermon; two nieces, Rachel Allen and companion, Nick, of Kenduskeag and Kristin Beckwith of Florida; a great-nephew, Brett Staples; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, with Pastor Ruth Guerette, of Kenduskeag Union Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the service. Interment will be at Kenduskeag Cemetery.
