ELLSWORTH – Michael Shane Billings, 37, died March 5, 2007, at his residence. He was born April 19, 1969, in Bar Harbor, the son of Millard A. and Beverly (Gardner) Billings. Michael was a 1987 graduate of Sumner Memorial High School, where he enjoyed playing saxophone in the school band. He was a driver of motorcycles, tractor trucks and farm tractors. He enjoyed summers mowing fields in Deer Isle. His most treasured times were spent with his children. He was very kind and thoughtful and had a big heart. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived his parents; children, Jesse, Courtney, Abbi Rose Billings and their mother, Wendy, all of Deer Isle, Gavin, Rhianna Billings and their mother, Carmen of Fort McCoy, Fla.; brother, James Billings and wife, Christeena, of West Gardiner; sisters, Robyn Clark and husband, Scott, of Otter Creek, Stefanie Graham and husband, James, of East Greenbush, N.Y., Sherry Lane and partner, Mike Edwards, of Portland and Colleen Wilson and husband, Joel, of Franklin; a special friend, Claudia; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Contributions in Michael’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
