BOULDER, Colo. – Michael Wayne Seamans, 43, died unexpectedly Dec. 8, 2005, at his home in Boulder, Colo. He was born May 30, 1962, in Dexter, a son of Trueman and Frances (Martin) Seamans. He graduated from Dexter Regional High School, Class of 1980, and went on to become an osteopathic doctor, specializing in neurology. Because of his compassionate nature he often treated patients regardless of their ability to pay. Mike was a sensitive and kind soul who took nothing at face value. He was intensely emotional and found deeper meaning in everything, expressing himself creatively through poetry. He boldly spoke of his Christian faith and God’s “awesome” love. Mike approached life fearlessly, didn’t take no for an answer, and to his credit, he rarely had to. He was never intimidated or embarrassed to make waves or stand up for what he believed in. He embraced nature and all its’ elements. He loved to sleep under the stars, especially in Maine where he said the stars shine the brightest. Breathing in the fresh air of morning was a simple pleasure to him. Besides his parents, he is survived by his brother, Peter Seamans and his wife, Debra, of St. Albans; a sister, Melanie Young and her husband, Scott, of Strafford, N.H. He leaves behind his nieces, Terri and Jaime Seamans and Mackenzie Young; his nephews, Richard, Scott, Jameson and Noah Young, who loved him dearly and thought of him in the same way that he thought of his Uncle Bucky. Mike is also survived by his grandmother, Margaret Seamans and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss his quirky sense of humor and dry wit. Time and miles may have separated him from his savored relationships with John Yakulevich, John Clouser and his cousin Cary (his friend and childhood “partner in crime”), but they were always close to his heart. He was predeceased by his uncles, A. Perry Whitmore, Bob Seamans, Shirley Seamans and Archie Parker; and also by his aunt, Phyllis Godreau. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Rd., Corinna. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the First Free Baptist Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Will Walters officiating. Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery, Corinna.
