LAKE ANN, Mich. and MONSON – Mickey Lee Anderson, 27, of Lake Ann, Mich., went home to be with his heavenly Father Aug. 1, 2006. Mickey was born Sept. 21, 1978, in Portland, the son of Joel Anderson and Susan (Stebbins) Smith. He was a 1997 graduate of Foxcroft Academy and Dexter Regional Vocational School in the law enforcement class. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for seven and a half years, and was a highly-decorated war veteran. Mickey served overseas twice, and on his most recent assignment to Iraq, survived direct gunfire and was ultimately the recipient of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Mickey savored life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working on various projects around his home, the outdoors, movies, and making those around him laugh. He had an adventurous and spontaneous spirit, and his smile, sense of humor and friendship will be terribly missed. His family and friends, however, take great comfort in Mickey’s relationship with Jesus Christ, and look forward to seeing him again in glory. There is no doubt that he is working on some project or another in his Father’s Kingdom all the while making those in glory with him laugh with his antics. Mickey is survived by his wife, Katie Rene’ (Brosier), and three sons, James, Micah and Owen; his father, Joel of Interlochen, Mich.; mother, Susan and Doug Smith of East Hartford, Conn.; brother, Victor and Pam and three children of Orland; sister, Heather Anderson of Lake Ann, Mich.; grandmother, Dorothy Stebbins of East Hartford, Conn., grandparents, Milton and Flora Anderson of Monson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Sandra Brosier; his special battle buddy, brother-in-law, and best friend, Shane and Wendy Brosier; sister-in-law, Kelli (Brosier) and Cliff Reppart; sisters-in-law, Holly Brosier and Emily Brosier; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Services were held Saturday, Aug. 5, at Lake Ann United Methodist New Life Center. He was buried at Green Briar Cemetery, Lake Ann with full military honors. There will be a memorial service in his honor 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, at his grandparents’ picnic area, 741 Elliottsville Rd., Monson. Donations may be made to the Memorial Fund for the Anderson Boys. Checks may be made payable to Katie Anderson and sent to 7187 Lake Ann Rd., Lake Ann, MI 49650.
