MAPLETON – Mildred A. Dean, 79, died Dec. 8, 2004, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born July 9, 1925, in Woodland, the daughter of George and Clara Belle (Newbegin) Jackson. Mildred enjoyed fishing, hunting and crocheting. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Kenneth Lee Dean, in 1983; two brothers, Cecil and Herbie Jackson; two sisters, Louise Curran and Gertrude Maynard; and a special friend, Russell McEachern. She is survived by four sons, Kenneth Dean Jr. and his partner, Sharon, Charles Dean and his wife, Bonnie, Vernie Dean and his wife, Donna, all of Mapleton, Ralph Dean and his wife, Colleen of Presque Isle; four daughters, Darlene Grant and her husband, Zane, Joanne Brown and her partner, Don Akeley, all of Presque Isle, Judy Ireland and her husband, Mark, and Debbie Lopez and her husband, Richard, all of Mapleton; a brother, George Jackson Jr. of Newport; sisters, Rowena Maynard and her husband, Lloyd, of Washburn, Dorothy Dean of Keene, N.H., and Lillian Hutings of Connecticut; several grandchildren, great-grand-children, nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Yvonne McEachern. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Kenneth Fox officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service. Spring interment will be in South Side Cemetery, Mapleton. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the charity of your choice.
