OLD TOWN – Mildred Baillargeon, 90, passed away May 28, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Jan. 21, 1918, in Fairfield, the daughter of Henry and Laura (Cyr) King. She married Emedy Baillargeon, Aug. 9, 1937. Mildred was known for fostering many children throughout the years and was the first cook for hot lunches at Old Town High School. She also worked many years in the Food and Nutrition Department at the University of Maine at Orono, where she made many lasting friendships and was known as “Mrs. B.” Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Emedy; four brothers, Joseph King, Edward King, Maurice King and Robert King; three sisters, Yvonne Lagassie, Theresa Emerson and Lorena Scofield; and a daughter-in-law, Joanne Baillargeon. She is survived by her four children, Leon Baillargeon and his wife, Sharon, Donna Watson and her husband, Thomas, Jeanne Roy and her husband, James, and Janet Abbott and her husband, Gene; and two sisters, Gloria Parks and Evelyn Vinson. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, at Holy Family Church, 429 Main St., Old Town, with Father Thomas Farley officiating. There will be a luncheon immediately after the service in the parish hall. Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Old Town. Notes of condolences may be made at www.mem.com.
