CARIBOU – Mildred Bragdon, 92, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at a Mars Hill nursing home. She was born Aug. 10, 1914, in Caribou, the daughter of Sam and Dora Wilcox. Mildred worked in the home. She raised her family and worked very hard in her home, making clothes as well as the other duties that go with maintaining a home. In her spare time, Mildred enjoyed making dolls, knitting, crocheting, and it was well known that she made the best biscuits. She was a lady of great faith and demonstrated her faith by actions and not words. She is survived by five children, Sterling and his wife, Madeline, of Connecticut, Gordon and his wife, Julie, of Eagle Lake, Phyllis Carey of Millinocket, Eugene and his wife, Andrea, of Washburn, and Merton and his wife, Wanda, also of Washburn; grandchildren, Sharon, Lori, Diane, Laurie, Susan, Laurie, Lynn, Janice, Mary, Allyson, Troy, Jean, Morris, Randy, Jazmine, Ellery, and Scottie, several great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by a special friend, Becky Dixon of Mars Hill. In addition to her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Ellery S. Bragdon; and a grandson, James Carey. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 26, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A graveside service will be conducted at a later date.
