BASS HARBOR – Mildred E. Young, 91, died Dec. 25, 2006, at a Bar Harbor hospital. She was born April 19, 1915, in St. George, the daughter of John and Letha (Page) Nice. When Mildred was a teenager, she helped assist at the Bass Harbor lighthouse. She worked many years as a storekeeper at the Kozy Corner Store, Bass Harbor and was a former member of the Knights of Pythias. Mildred loved her family and will be remembered as a very caring mother and grandmother. Mildred is survived by her daughters, Natalie Denbow of Cedar Park, Texas, Sherri Robbins and her husband, Dan, of Trenton and Angela Lemoine and her husband, Kenny Jr., of Swans Island; one son, Manuel “Lucky” Young and his wife, Jackie, of Southwest Harbor; one daughter-in-law, Karen “Kacy” Young of Tremont; one sister, Arlene Donovan of Bass Harbor, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Manuel; and one son, John. Friends are invited to visit with the family 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. with Sam Leonardi officiating.
