EXETER, ALBANY, N.Y., and TAMPA, Fla. – Millie (Hersey) Marshall, 72, passed away peacefully July 20, 2008, at a Tampa, Fla., health care facility. She was born April 7, 1936, in Waterville, the daughter of Roy and Helen (Levitt) Hersey. Millie graduated from Corinna Union Acadmey in 1954 and Farmington State Teachers College in 1958. She started her teaching career and continued her own education, getting her master’s degree and teaching 30 years in Albany, N.Y., and then retiring to Tampa, Fla. Millie loved people and life. She gave selflessly to her family her entire life and in return to her, her niece, Holly, saw selflessly to her care to the end. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Kesselin of Albany, N.Y., and Jeannie Marshall of Las Vegas; granddaughter, Carly Sheifer of Albany, N.Y.; her brother, Olcut Hersey of Stetson; and sister, Linda Bean of Corinth. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Marjorie Colbath. Millie will be interred in the Hersey family lot at Exeter Center Cemetery at a later date.
