VASSALBORO and HOULTON – Mildred Josephine Ivey Nason, 93, died peacefully Jan. 4, 2008, at Madigan Estates Health Care Facility after a brief illness. She was born June 7, 1914, in Eel River, New Brunswick, the seventh of 13 children to Andrew and Julia (Farrell) Ivey. Mildred married Howard R. Nason, Nov. 4, 1933, in Debec, New Brunswick. They came into the United States to live in 1944. Howard died June 24, 1946. Mildred remained in Houlton, until she retired from Madigan Hospital in 1976 and then moved to Vassalboro to live at her daughter’s. Mildred leaves two daughters, Charlotte Nason Roberge and her spouse, Ronald, of Vassalboro and Virginia R. Nason of Island Falls; five grandchildren, Mark E. Small and his wife, Josefine, of Oakfield, Derek J. Small and his wife, Karen, of Raymond, Michelle Roberge of Jay, Thomas A. Roberge and his wife, Lisa, of Vassalboro and Nancy Rob-erge and her husband, Paul Yee, of Nelson, New Zealand; 10 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Helen Albright of Hartland, New Brunswick, and Paul Ivey of Bradford, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; her grandson, Sean J. Small; five sisters, Flo Phillips, Cassie Foster, Chrissie Carr, Elva Purington and Doris Nason; and five brothers, Willie, Harry, Chester, Merrill and Roland Ivey. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Dunn Funeral Home. Graveside prayers and burial will be held in the spring at Houlton Evergreen Cemetery.
