CARIBOU – Mildred (Castonguay) White, 90, entered into eternal rest Jan. 9, 2005, at Caribou. She was born Feb. 2, 1914, at Van Buren, the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Raymond) Castonguay. Mildred was employed as the head cook of the cafeteria at Gould Memorial Hospital in Presque Isle for many years until her retirement in 1976. Mildred was an active member of the “Know Your Neighbor Club” on the Madawaska Road for many years and was a great support for her husband in their family potato farming business. She is survived by three sons, Vaughn White and his wife, Lorraine, of Caribou, Lloyd White and his wife, Florence, of Westfield, Mass. and Joey White of Caribou; grandchildren, Debra White and Susan Schloeman both of Caribou, Jane Kilcollins of Fort Fairfield, Tammy Sanderson of Russell, Mass., Casey White of Gales Ferry, Conn., Stephen White and Rebecca Conroy of Westfield, Mass., Jody Cyr of Connor, Joey White Jr., George White and Patrick White all of Caribou; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons; special relatives, Lillian, Gene, Patrice, Mary Frances, Lisa and Gregory Ryan of Chicago; a brother, Gerald Castonguay of Kennebunk; and a sister, Alice McNulty of Melrose, Mass. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her husband George E. White in 1980; her brothers, Alphonse, Patrick and Raymond Castonguay; and her sisters, Cecile Boucher, Pauline Castonguay, Lauretta Kelly, Yvonne Cormier, Anne Kirkpatrick and Theresa Nealand. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. Funeral services will be held noon, Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Fr. David Raymond, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery.
