LINCOLN – Milton Joseph Ouellette Sr., 71, husband of Carol (LeClair) Ouellette, passed away Feb. 27, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1937, in Old Town, the son of Leon and Leona (Duplessie) Ouellette. Joe was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the American Legion and the Lincoln Veterans Honor Guard. His family was always his first priority. He was a generous, gentle caring man, a loving husband, a devoted father, a dedicated grandfather, and an adoring great-grandfather. He enjoyed gardening, wildlife, and being outside; collecting his Winchester guns and sharing vegetables from his garden with everyone in town. In addition to his devoted and loving wife of 52 years, Carol, he is survived by three children, Linda Pooler, Milton Ouellette Jr., and Sandra Leonard and Sheldon; siblings, Bernice Field and Harold, Rita Umbro, Donald Ouellette and Sylvia, Mary Gero and Robert, and Audrey LaMarre; grandchildren, Shane Davis and Susan, Heather Ouellette, Corey Jimmo, Leon Ouellette and Melissa, Adam Pooler, Gabriel Ouellette, Megan Pooler, Hailey Godfrey and Garry, Cassidy Ouellette, Jordyn Leonard, Justin Galligher, and Katey, Tysen and Tressa Libby; great-grandchildren, Alexis Davis, Matthew Davis and Matthew Paul Ouellette; and numerous longtime friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Paul. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Myles Cyr officiating. Friends and family will gather at the American Legion Hall, Fleming Street, after the service. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
