GLENBURN – Richard Allen Fifield, 69, passed away peacefully Feb. 27, 2008, surround-ed by loved ones, at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 25, 1938, in Stonington. He graduated from Stonington High School. Richard worked as a merchant marine for Sun Oil Co. In 1970 he established his own business, Fifield’s Office Machines. His illness forced him to retire in 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sandra Fifield; daughters, Theresa Russell of Derry, N.H., and Sherrie Winton and husband, Thomas, of Bangor; sister, Christine Burr and husband, George, of Bangor; brother, Robert Fifield and wife, Virginia, of Aptos, Calif.; grandsons, Evan and Tyler Russell of Derry, N.H.; many beloved nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his mother, Celia Fifield; father, Robert Fifield; brother, Wilbur Fifield; sister, Patsy Poitras; and beloved nephew, Stephen Poitras.
