BUCKSPORT – Milton S. Gross, 73, died Nov. 18, 2003, at Bucksport. He was born Sept. 18, 1930, in Prospect, the son of Alton M. and Belvah (Leach) Gross. He was educated in Prospect, Verona, and Bucksport schools. He was a member of the Felicity Masonic Lodge No. 19 AF&AM, Bucksport, the Elm Street Congregational Church, Bucksport, and the Bucksport Senior Citizens Group. He worked for Hannaford Brothers Company for 43 years as a skilled meat cutter. He enjoyed attending public suppers and taking rides in the country. Milton enjoyed his family and his black lab, “Ace”. He is survived by three sisters, Belle Anne Bridges and her husband, Clarence, of Kingston, R.I., Beatrice Roy of Bristol, Conn., and Anna Scott and her husband, Dean, of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, Alton L. Gross and his wife, Tippy, of Bucksport, and Gerry M. Gross Sr. and his wife, Catie, of Orland; a special nephew, Gerry M. Gross Jr.; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; six brothers and sisters in law, Norman Bernardini of New Market, N.H., Clarence Bernardini of Winslow, Thelma Lafferty of Bucksport, Sylvia Sicard of Westbrook, Richard Hamel of Newburgh, and Anna Hamel of Williamsburg, Va. Milton was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Alice, in 1997; his father in 1989; his mother, in 2001; his sister, Lois F. Leach, in 2003; and brother-in-law, Harold Bernardini in 2003. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where a memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Donations in Milton’s memory may be made to the Bucksport Senior Citizens, RR 2 Box 822-200, Bucksport, ME 04416.
